Pharmaceutical Companies on High Alert Following Federal Government Warning on Ransomware

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which is part of the Department of Homeland Security, has issued an alert to healthcare companies and organizations regarding the Maui ransomware threat.

CISA said the ransomware has been used by North Korean state-sponsored actors since at least May 2021 to target companies and organizations that are in the healthcare and public health sector organizations, including pharma companies.

The advisory includes information on indicators that a system has been compromised by the ransomware and tactics for dealing with an attack.
