Adherium Gets 510(k) Clearance for Connecting Its Device With GSK Ellipta Inhalers

August 1, 2022

New Zealand-based Adherium has received FDA’s 510(k) clearance for use of its next-generation Hailie sensor devices with GSK’s Ellipta (fluticasone furoate, umeclidinium and vilanterol) inhalers.

The Hailie sensor monitors medication use by patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by measuring inhalation duration, volume and peak inhalation flow.

The sensor was previously cleared for use with AstraZeneca’s pressurized metered-dose inhaler Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol fumarate dihydrate).

Adherium is focused on developing respiratory digital health products for medication adherence, remote monitoring and data management.
