VySpine Receives 510(k) Clearance for VyPlate Anterior Cervical Plate System

The FDA has granted VySpine 510(k) clearance for its VyPlate anterior cervical plate system for stabilization of the anterior cervical spine.

The system features titanium alloy plates and screws, and a locking mechanism that ensures the bone screws stay in place.

The simple device is designed to offer versatility and ease of use for surgeons, the Tallahassee, Fla.-based company said.

The system is available in several options and sizes, and it includes self-drilling or self-tapping screws in a range of lengths and diameters to suit the anatomy of the individual patient.
