Point Robotics Gets 510(k) Clearance for Robotic-Assisted Surgical System

Taiwan-based Point Robotics has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its Point Kinguide robotic-assisted surgical system for orthopedic procedures.

The minimally invasive surgical tool features a hand-held robot that assists surgeons in drilling bone and implanting screws. The robot allows surgeons to attach surgical instruments for different surgical procedures and 3D imaging during surgeries.

The company is also seeking expanded clearance for the device to include spinal surgeries, including herniated disc decompression procedures.
