Viz.ai’s Automated RV/LV Algorithm Gets 510(k) Clearance

Viz.ai’s automated RV/LV (right ventrical/left ventrical) ratio algorithm has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for use with the company’s Viz PE (pulmonary embolism) device for pulmonary embolism.

The algorithm is designed to measure the diameter of the ventricles of the heart to provide the ratio of the maximum right ventricle diameter versus that of the left ventricle.

The Viz PE device can identify suspected pulmonary embolisms within minutes. With the integrated algorithm the device can detect both clots in the lungs and degree of strain on the right heart. Failure of the right heart can lead to death in patients with pulmonary embolism.
