eCential Robotics Gets 510(k) Clearance for Surgical Robotic Platform

French company eCential Robotics has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its robotic spine surgery system.

The company said its platform features patented technologies involving 2D/3D imaging, navigation and robotics to give surgeons reproducible precision during surgical procedures.

The system also consists of three mobile interconnected units — a mobile C-arm, a mobile viewing workstation and a mobile collaborative robot.

eCential Robotics said it’s also developing a series of apps dedicated to specific surgical indications, adding that it plans to expand to include multiple bone surgery indications.
