Vesalio Receives CE Approval for NeVa NET Device

September 8, 2022

Vesalio received CE approval for its NeVa NET device, indicated for use in thrombectomy, surgery to remove a blood clot from an artery or vein.

The item is a stent retriever that has an integrated clot microfiltration technology designed to capture all types of clots and maximize clot retention for fast restoration of blood flow to tissue affected by the stroke.

The microfilter feature in the device is intended to keep clot particles from escaping to new or distal territories, which has been reported to occur in up to 40 percent of cases, the company said.

The company said it is hoping the device will improve the standard of care for patients with stroke who need a thrombectomy.
