Zimmer Biomet’s Identity Shoulder System Gains FDA Clearance

Zimmer Biomet’s Identity Shoulder System has received FDA clearance for use in anatomic, reverse and revision shoulder replacement procedures.

The system expands on the traditional materials used in reverse shoulder arthroplasty, offering eight humeral tray combinations that give surgeons more options for aligning the upper arm bone with the shoulder socket without lengthening the arm.

The Identity system features proprietary technologies such as are used to adapt to patients’ individual anatomies.

The system is also designed to provide adaptability for potential future revision procedures, allowing for 5mm of additional joint space below the resection.
