FDA Clears Nova Primary Blood Glucose Reference Analyzer

November 2, 2022

The FDA has granted marketing clearance to Nova Biomedical’s Nova Primary blood glucose reference analyzer for testing the accuracy of blood glucose monitoring systems (BGMS).

The analyzer is for use by manufacturers of BGMS systems and by clinical diabetes researchers to test the accuracy of the systems.

The device, which uses 25 microliters of blood, delivers results in about two minutes. The data can be downloaded through the system’s USB data port.

Recent technological advancements in BGMS have enabled diabetes patients to get much more accurate glucose readings, enabling them to take steps to achieve the optimal blood glucose range.
