Providence Medical Technology’s Fixation System Gains Expanded Clearance

The FDA has granted an expanded clearance for Providence Medical Technology’s Cavux Facet Fixation System for anterior cervical fusion revision surgery, a follow-up procedure after an initial surgery failed to resolve symptoms or properly heal.

The integrated cage and screw system is cleared for stabilization of cervical vertebrae C3 to C7 until the bones are fused. The Cavux Cage first received FDA clearance in 2016.

The expanded clearance was based on results from a study in which 96 percent of those receiving the procedure had their fusion issues resolved.
