Turtle Shell Technologies Sensor Bed Sheet Cleared for Vital Signs Monitoring

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance to Turtle Shell Technologies’ Dozee device to measure heart and respiration rates through a sensor sheet placed under a bed mattress. 

The sheet captures “micro-vibrations produced by every heartbeat, respiration cycle and body movement,” the company said, relaying the data to a pod at the patient’s bedside.

The pod converts the data into vital signs that are presented on remote monitoring dashboards, enabling contactless patient monitoring.
