MedCognetics QmTRIAGE Software Cleared for Breast Cancer Detection

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance to MedCognetics’s QmTRIAGE software to analyze standard mammograms and automatically perform breast cancer screenings as part of the radiology workflow.

To reduce the risk of data bias, the artificial intelligence software was developed using a diverse patient dataset of deidentified clinical data of breast imaging cases from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

The medical center licensed its intellectual property to MedCognetics and holds equity in the company, which will sell the cloud-based product as software-as-a-service.
