Cellmyx’s Fat Tissue Kit Cleared for Multiple Surgical Procedures

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance to Cellmyx for its intelliFat BOD kit for harvesting, processing and transferring adipose (fat) tissue for general, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.

The sterile, disposable kit “streamlines procedure to under 30 minutes,” the company said, and allows physicians to perform the procedure without incising, stitching or scarring.

The kit is indicated for use as an alternative or as an adjunct to surgery for filling soft tissue defects and promoting healing.

The clearance covers a wide range of procedures from general to reconstructive surgery, including orthopedic, cosmetic, gynecological, laparoscopic, arthroscopic and thoracic procedures.
