NVIDIA and Medtronic to Develop Artificial Intelligence Solutions

NVIDIA has teamed up with Medtronic to develop artificial intelligence (AI) based solutions for use in patient care, starting with an AI-assisted colonoscopy tool.

The companies will begin by integrating NVIDIA’s technologies into Medtronic’s GI Genius intelligent endoscopy module, the first FDA-cleared, AI-assisted colonoscopy tool to help physicians detect polyps that can lead to colorectal cancer.

Medtronic intends to integrate NVIDIA’s Holoscan AI software and NVIDIA’s IGX AI hardware platform to run with the GI Genius colonoscopy system.

The first systems built with the technology will be available later this year.
