CELL PHONE, GLUCOSE MONITOR ALL IN ONE

Palisades Park, N.J.-based HealthPia America plans to introduce a cell phone that features a built-in glucose monitor for diabetic patients. HealthPia licensed the technology from a South Korean company and recently received approval from the Food and Drug Administration to offer the system to patients in the United States. The technology is commercially available in some Asian countries, says Steven Kim, CEO at HealthPia.
