MEDICAL-STYLE ADHESIVE ACUPRESSURE BAND POSITIVELY REDUCES POSTOPERATIVE NAUSEA CAUSED BY SURGERY

August 23, 2006

In a study conducted by a Northeast hospital, Pressure Right, a new 5" medical-style, acupressure wristband, was found to help reduce the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) to a very low level in high-risk patients. According to the director of the study, there were no adverse effects in the use of the bands, and patients, who were instructed to keep them on both wrists for at least 24 hours following surgery, readily accepted them.
