ST. JUDE TO MERGE UNITS, CREATE NEW CARDIOVASCULAR DIVISION

St. Jude Medical Inc. said Monday it is merging two of its units to create a new division focused on developing medical devices used to treat heart problems.

As a result of the change, the company will lay off 30 employees, and give some other employees more responsibilities, a St. Jude spokesperson said.
