CALIFORNIA DOCS IN IUD INVESTIGATION

California authorities are warning at least 850 women that their doctors are being investigated for allegedly illegally obtaining intrauterine devices. The state requires physicians to buy IUDs from licensed U.S. distributors of the devices. The physicians under investigation are suspected of having obtained the contraceptives from unlicensed vendors over the Internet or from Mexico.
