ALTANA TO SELL DRUGS BUSINESS TO NYCOMED

German chemical and pharmaceutical company Altana AG said Thursday it was selling its drugs business to Denmark's Nycomed for euro 4.5 billion, following through on its intention to split the company in two and focus on its chemicals arm.
