The Safety of Natrecor (Drug Injury Watch)
In his blog, Tom Lamb discusses an article in the journal Pharmacotherapy about "the need to resolve the safety issues surrounding the heart failure drug Natrecor (nesiritide)." Recent studies of the drug, which is made by Johnson & Johnson unit Scios, found that "Natrecor is associated with a significant increased risk of death."

"Until the safety issues are resolved, as advised by Dorsch and Rodgers in their article 'Nesiritide: harmful or harmless?', it seems that the use of Natrecor should be limited," he writes.
