NEW PRODUCT PLACEMENT CONTRACT HELPS HEMOSENSE

October 16, 2006

HemoSense said Oct. 11 it has a new product placement contract with CheckUps, a walk-in medical facility provider associated with Wal-Mart. This "adds to the likelihood of the company meeting or exceeding its [fiscal] 2007 and 2009 revenue expectations," according to Lazard Capital Markets Vice President and medical technology analyst Alexander Arrow.

HemoSense's product, the INRatio coagulation testing meter, is slated to be placed in all CheckUps clinics in Wal-Mart stores, which HemoSense said includes 20 new clinics scheduled to open by the end of the year.

CheckUps says its services include diagnosing and treating "common ailments such as strep throat, ear and sinus infections, and blood screenings." The fact that visits are supposed to "take under 15 minutes" makes the quick-to-use HemoSense product particularly appropriate, Arrow said.
