FDA: DENTAL PRODUCTS PANEL TO MEET ON SHORT NOTICE

The FDA published a notice in the Oct. 26 Federal Register to announced the Dental Products Panel of its Medical Devices Advisory Committee will meet Nov. 9.

The panel will discuss, make recommendations on and vote on a premarket approval application for a collagen material that contains a bone morphogenetic protein for oral maxillofacial bone grafting procedures.

The agency said it regretted it was unable to publish the meeting notice 15 days prior

to the event, as is customary. Because of the urgency of the issues to be discussed, FDA officials concluded it was in the public interest to hold this meeting despite the short notice.
