FDA CLEARS I-FLOW'S 10-INCH ON-Q SOAKER CATHETER

January 14, 2005

I-Flow has announced that the FDA cleared its 10-inch ON-Q Soaker Catheter for the delivery of local anesthetic to the surgical site to reduce pain following surgery.

ON-Q consists of a small balloon pump that holds a local anesthetic and delivers it through a tiny, specially designed catheter directly into the surgical site. The device not only reduces patients' pain immediately following surgery, it also reduces the need for postsurgical narcotics.

I-Flow's Soaker Catheter is currently available in sizes ranging from 1 inch to 10 inches in length and provides even distribution of local anesthetic over a wide area through its patented wicking capabilities. ON-Q is currently used in cardiovascular and bariatric surgeries, as well as various OB/GYN, orthopedic, cosmetic and other procedures.
