NEW PET-CT SCANNER TO AID IN DIAGNOSES

Physicians from the University at Buffalo and Dent Neurologic Institute has unveiled one of the first combined PET-CT scanners to begin operation in the Buffalo area. The scanner combines the technology of positron emission tomography and computed tomography to create a powerful diagnostic imaging system known for its speed, accuracy and enhanced image quality. By combining the two devices, physicians can more accurately diagnose cancer, heart disease and brain disorders.
