German Drugmaker Stada Buys Nizhpharm

Germany's generic drugmaker Stada Arzneimittel AG has completed the previously announced acquisition of one of Russia's top three pharmaceutical companies, Nizhpharm. The company released a statement saying that it had bought a 97.47-percent stake in the Russian firm, which will be consolidated with the Stada group as of Jan. 1, 2005.
