Protein Design Labs to Offer $250 Million in Notes

Protein Design Labs plans to offer $250 million in seven-year notes that are convertible into shares of common stock. The Fremont biotechnology company said it will use the net proceeds for working capital and other general corporate purposes, including research and development, capital expenditures and expansion of manufacturing facilities.
