Advanced Neuromodulation Gets Subpoena

February 18, 2005

Advanced Neuromodulation Systems said it received a subpoena from the Department of Health and Human Services for documents related to the company's sales and billing practices. The company, which makes radio-wave devices that disrupt pain signals sent by the nervous system, said the HHS' Office of the Inspector General issued a subpoena requesting documents on sales and marketing practices, reimbursement, Medicare and Medicaid billing, and other business practices. Advanced Neuromodulation said it is cooperating with the investigation.
