Cardiac Science Awards Saft Contract for AED Battery Power Packs

Saft, a global multitechnology battery specialist, has announced that Cardiac Science, a manufacturer of life-saving automatic external defibrillators (AEDs), awarded Saft a three-year contract to be the turnkey provider of a complete lithium battery power pack for Cardiac Science's G3 line of Powerheart AEDs.

Under the agreement, Saft will manufacture the Primary Lithium Sulfur Dioxide cells and assemble them into a battery power pack that simply plugs into the AED. This battery power pack meets U.S. military shock, vibration, extreme temperature and other environmental requirements.

Prior to this agreement, Saft provided Cardiac Science with the battery cells, which they assembled into the complete power pack assembly in-house.
