Nymox Expands Large Patent Portfolio

Nymox Pharmaceutical has been issued U.S. patents for a method of measuring cholesterol levels using saliva and for novel Alzheimer's disease drug candidates targeting spherons.

The company also has been issued an Australian patent for the use of statin drugs to treat or prevent Alzheimer's disease.

Further, a U.S. patent has been issued for a new method of creating animal models for Alzheimer's disease using the DNA sequence for neural thread protein (NTP) under license to the company from Rhode Island Hospital affiliated with Brown University. NTP is the protein measured by the company's AlzheimAlert product and targeted in one of the company's Alzheimer's disease drug development programs.
