Antares Announces Successful Results From VIBEX System Studies

Antares Pharma, a specialty pharmaceutical company that develops and licenses drug delivery technology for next generation lifestyle products, has announced the successful completion of a series of design verification clinical studies confirming the performance of its disposable VIBEX mini-needle injection devices.

Three studies, encompassing more than 250 injections, were conducted and demonstrated that the VIBEX mini-needle injectors provided effective dose delivery comparable to a conventional needle and syringe but with reduced pain sensation.

Antares Pharma's disposable VIBEX mini-needle injectors incorporate a conventional prefilled glass syringe but are able to achieve their delivery performance by limiting the needle insertion to just 2.5 mm and by increasing the injection pressure to push the liquid drug to the desired depth. In addition, the VIBEX mini-needle injector incorporates needle protection technology to prevent exposure to contaminated needles following use.
