Sanofi-Aventis to Expand R&D in Hungary

Sanofi-Aventis will expand its research and development center in Budapest, Chairman and Chief Executive Jean-Francois Dehecq told reporters Monday. The world's third-largest drug company will spend EUR15 million to expand the unit, which has developed two original molecules in recent years, Dehecq said. He didn't specify over what time period the money will be spent. The development of asthma and diabetes drugs, based on the molecules, is "under way," the chief executive added.
