Indian Pharma Exports to Philippines to Rise 25 Percent This Year

Philippine imports of essential and life-saving drugs from India are expected to rise by a significant 25 percent to US$22.5 million this year from US$18 million in 2004. This was revealed by Dr. P.V. Appaji, executive director of Pharmaceutical Exporters Council of India (Pharmexcil), at the sidelines of the meeting between the Indian trade delegation from the Chemexcil and Pharmexcil and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Appaji said India's pharmaceutical exports to the Philippines have been growing in the past few years.
