Filipino, India Businessmen Want Freer Medicine Trade

Officials of the Philippines-India Business Council called on the government Monday to allow importation of medicines outside the government's "Botika ng Bayan" program, which could lower prices of essential drugs by as much as 75 percent. The statement was made at a meeting between members of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce of Industry (PCCI) and delegates from India's Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (Pharmexil) and the Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics Export Promotion Council (Chemexcil).
