Caremark Sees Growth in Mail Order Scripts

Caremark Rx Inc. executives say they are well positioned to take advantage of the growth in mail order prescriptions. Speaking at a Raymond James investor conference March 7, officials said that mail order prescriptions' national market penetration rate has risen from 10 percent in 1995 to an expected 21 percent this year. Nashville-based Caremark operates seven mail order pharmacies -- including three it picked up in its $6.9 billion acquisition of AdvancePCS -- which are operating at about 70 percent of capacity.
