Washington University Gets $14 Million Grant to Study Diabetic Heart Problems

Washington University School of Medicine received a $14 million, five-year grant to find better ways to prevent and treat heart disease in patients with diabetes, it said Monday. The grant, from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health, will set up a Specialized Center for Clinically Oriented Research in Cardiac Function at the university.
