County Claims Pharmaceuticals Overcharged for Medicaid

Erie County Executive Joel Giambra's war on rising Medicaid costs is headed to the courts. Attorneys representing the county on Tuesday afternoon filed suit against 77 pharmaceutical companies including some of the industry's powerhouses, such as Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, alleging they committed fraudulent pricing practices that hiked costs related to the county's Medicaid bill.
