Glenmark's Brazilian Arm Buys Hormonal Brand for $4 Million

Glenmark Farmaceutica, the wholly owned Brazilian subsidiary of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, has purchased a hormonal brand, Uno-Ciclo, from Instituto Biochimico Indústria Farmacêutica for $4.6 million. The brand generated sales of $3.1m in Brazil in the 12 months prior to the acquisition. GFL acquired the trademark along with exclusive manufacturing and marketing rights globally. Biochimico, will manufacture the product, while GFL will market it initially in Brazil and then extend it to other Latin American markets.
