Novartis Backs Local Biotechnology Research

Switzerland-based Novartis AG has signed a three-year agreement with the Thai government agency Biotec aimed at developing new medicines based on indigenous natural compounds and microorganisms. Novartis will train Thai scientists and transfer technology to Biotec, as well as contribute financial support toward joint research. Internships for Thai scientists will be offered in Switzerland.
