Tripos, CeNeS Extend Research Collaboration

Tripos Inc. and CeNeS Pharmaceuticals Plc extended their joint research collaboration after reaching certain milestones, the companies said Thursday. Financial terms were not disclosed. St. Louis-based Tripos and Cambridge, U.K.-based CeNeS have been working together since 2003 identifying compounds active against catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT), an enzyme that works in metabolism. Tripos said it used its chemistry process to build on CeNeS' proprietary information. The work under the new agreement will involve optimizing the active compounds.
