Amgen, Morphotek to Collaborate

Amgen and Morphotek announced a multiyear research collaboration agreement Monday. Financial terms of the deal were not released. Amgen of Thousand Oaks becomes the seventh biotech or pharmaceutical company to enter into a licensing deal for Morphotek's patented technology, which is used to develop manufacturing-grade cell lines that express high levels of antibodies. Morphotek of Exton, Pa., will receive funding to support its research efforts to optimize Amgen cell lines.
