Altana Sues Sun Pharma Over Pantoprazole Patent

German drugs and chemicals group Altana has filed a lawsuit against India's Sun Pharmaceutical Industries alleging patent infringement on Altana's pantoprazole anti-ulcer drug, it said on Friday. An Altana spokesman said that Sun had made a Paragraph IV filing in the United States for a generic of Protonix, or pantoprazole, and that Altana was confident of winning its case.
