Digirad CEO Resigns After Probe

April 22, 2005

Digirad said that it asked for and received the resignation of president and chief executive David Sheehan and fired another senior executive after an internal investigation into accounting for the sale of a digital gamma camera in 2004. The company said director Gary Burbach has been appointed president and CEO. The manufacturer of digital gamma cameras for hospitals and imaging centers said it asked for Sheehan's resignation after an investigation by its audit committee concluded that certain unidentified employees attempted to circumvent internal controls over financial reporting or failed to reveal facts related to the delivery or sale of the camera in the first quarter of 2004.
