Startup Firm Books First Sales of Advanced Syringe

Avanca Medical Devices, an Albuquerque, N.M.-based startup, has booked its first product order for 600 units of its advanced, one-handed reciprocating syringe called Procedur. The order, placed by two East Coast hospitals, will bring Avanca about $12,000 in sales, the first for the company that formed last year after licensing the technology from the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.
