FDA Cracks Whip on Dietary Supplements

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an order banning the sale of all dietary supplements, food tablets/capsules and liquid lozenges that do not have a licence under the Drug Act with effect from July 1. Maharashtra is the second state after Kerala to order such a ban in an attempt to bring about quality control in nutraceuticals, a growing industry.
