Stratagene Files Patent Suit Against Third Wave

Stratagene, a California life-science firm, announced it is suing Third Wave Technologies in Madison, Wis., over a patent issue. Third Wave sued Stratagene over the same technologies last September. The technologies involved are some of Third Wave's Invader products and Stratagene's FullVelocity. Both are molecular diagnostics systems. Stratagene said in a release that FullVelocity allows researchers to make copies of a gene, analyze DNA and RNA, and understand the relations of different genes.
