Drug Firm Restructures

May 13, 2005

GlaxoSmithKline has confirmed it is changing the way its business is structured in New Zealand, and is in discussions with staff. In the late 1990s the pharmaceutical company, then called Glaxo Wellcome, reduced its workforce, making 46 staff redundant. GlaxoSmithKline says it is currently talking through proposed changes, but is not yet in a position to say more. The company employs 90 staff across its pharmaceutical and consumer health care divisions.
