Cadila Inks Pact With Mayne Pharma

Mid-sized Indian drugmaker Cadila Healthcare and Australia's Mayne Pharma will set up a plant in western India to make generics, a Cadila official said on Thursday. The joint venture will make generic cytotoxic drugs, used in chemotherapy, and active pharmaceutical ingredients for overseas markets, the company said. Construction of the plant in Gujarat state will begin this year and operations will commence in mid-2007. The plant will have an annual capacity of 10-12 million vials.
