Eisai Gets British Approval for Orally Dissolvable Aricept

Eisai Co. said Tuesday the British Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency has approved an orally dissolvable version of its Aricept anti-Alzheimer's disease drug. The company said it will seek to get approval in other European countries by taking advantage of the European Union's mutual recognition procedure. The dissolvable Aricept tablet is designed for Alzheimer's disease patients who have difficulties swallowing conventional tablets.
