MORE GLOBAL BUYS BY PHARMA COMPANIES LIKELY

In the last 10-odd months, the Indian pharma industry has possibly seen the single largest number of global transactions in its 50-year history. But the appetite of domestic drug companies has only been whetted and more global acquisitions are on the anvil, say analysts tracking the segment. "There's been a considerable gain of momentum in the past couple of years in the area of acquisitions, and according to our market analysis, the trend will continue for some time. We should witness a significantly large number of acquisitions in regulated markets and Europe," said Mr Anand Dikshit, Director (Corporate Finance), Rabo India Finance.
