PAREXEL ACQUIRES SOUTH AFRICAN PHARMA FIRM FOR $6M

Biopharmaceutical outsourcing company Parexel International Corp. has acquired a South African pharmacology business for $6 million in cash and additional payments based on future performance. The Waltham company (Nasdaq: PRXL) said it is buying QdotPharma, a company that conducts clinical trials with special therapeutic expertise focused on drugs treating metabolic, cardiovascular, psychiatric and central nervous system disorders.
